If you are reading this, I take it that you are at least interested in my 30 Day Newsletter The Truth About Porn. I am certain that the information shared in this newsletter will be helpful in giving you a firm foundation to start quitting your habit of pornography consumption and/or in helping give others accurate information in their fight against this problem.

This is a bigger issue than you might think.

Before I make this request, allow me to share some quick information about pornography. I have had many conversations with Christians and read a considerable amount of literature about the topic of pornography, besides having personal experience struggling with porn myself. All of this has opened my eyes wide open as to how big of an issue porn has become in the church.

Covenant Eyes, a porn accountability software website, reports that 64% of “Christian” men and 15% of “Christian” women say they watch porn at least once a month. That means, if you go to a church with 80 members, it is reasonable to assume that at least 15 of those members are monthly porn consumers (this accounts for ruling out young children and very old members). This is being quite conservative and probably undercalculating. My own battle with pornography and conversations with other men and women in the church confirms to me that this calculation is very reasonable. I was 9 yr. old when I was first exposed to porn. One brother just told me he was 5 yr. old. Generally, children are exposed between 11-12 yr. old today (Covenant Eyes & Douglas Weiss PhD). You know preachers, married men with children, single men who look put together, single women, and young girls and boys who are enslaved to pornography. You will learn information from this newsletter that will expose the darkness of porn in our churches, but it will also help you understand why porn is so enslaving and how it is that porn in 2024 is so much worse than it was only 25 yrs. ago. It’s not 1995 anymore.

My Request:

Okay, here is my special request of you. If you have learned something already from this brief article, please take a moment right now and say a prayer. Say a prayer for each man, woman, and child who is struggling with this sin in secret. Ask God to bless this newsletter to be effective. Then, forward this article to at least FIVE friends. If the numbers and information I just shared with you are convicting, please, please share this with others. There are people in your life who want help with this issue, but they are too embarrassed to tell you what they are doing in secret. I know. I used to be one of those people.

Thank you for reading and sharing this with others in advance! May God receive any glory from this effort. It is only by His grace that people like me are here today, writing on this issue in the past tense.

God bless you,

Aaron Battey (author of Five Minute Bible Study)

I’m sorry to hear that you struggle with this. I strongly encourage you to read the entire newsletter and follow the advice in it which entails finding someone you are comfortable enough with and who will be honest with you to help you get out of its clutches. This is not something you can fight alone.
